Our Purpose: TEACHING LIFE SKILLS THROUGH SPORTS.
Soul of a Child Summer Camp youth sports camp component is committed to providing a safe, fun, and skill focused experience for kids between the ages of 7 and 17. Our youth summer camp component is a 2 hour block, three days per week, that offers instruction in all skill levels, from introductory to advanced.
Under the expert care of our sports camp coaches, kids not only learn individual, sport-oriented skills, but also develop personally and socially, learning teamwork and building character and life skills through sports.
One of the most valuable lessons that sports camps can teach kids is good sportsmanship. Good sportsmanship is important because it teaches kids how to be gracious in both victory and in defeat. By playing and learning the proper way to act in both victory and defeat, children can learn how to act when similar things happen in their real lives. Winning does not give you a right to gloat, nor does losing mean that you’re a failure. Being able to congratulate the opposing team in a contest is an important lesson that can have benefits throughout life.
Ingredients for a fun at the Soul of a Child Summer Sports Camp component include:
Teaching Kids Teamwork | Importance of “Staying in Your Lane” | Our No “I” in Team theory | Leadership training | Staff that maximize the “competitive sports factor” for every camper on the field/court | A focus on the safety and well being of our campers at all times | Our unique on-field progression
Our purpose is been to teach life skills through sports. Skill development is the driving force behind what we do.
We are committed to both our and your child’s progression throughout each day and week of our camp component to maximize skill development. Our progression plan is outlined below:
Warm-up games and drills that focus on stretching | A new “skill of the day” each day of camp | Periodic breaks throughout the session to ensure safety, keep youth fresh, and encourage group bonding and friendship development
Regardless of where your child goes with sports, your ultimate goal is to have him or her be a happy, functional, contributing individual. That’s why we take our responsibility with your child so seriously. We definitely want your child to have a good time and improve in his or her sport of choice. Even more, we want your child to succeed in life. That’s why:
Our staff is selected carefully and with an eye on character. | Maintaining a positive attitude is a primary focus. | Life skills such as choosing how to think about things, treating others well, and being persistent are highlighted. | Behavior on the field is related to behavior in other areas of life. | We go the extra mile to leave your child feeling like a winner, on and off the field.
Soul of a Child Summer Sports Camp components are locally hosted through our extensive networks, including
partnering summer camp programs, park and recreation departments, school districts, and franchise owners around the metro Atlanta area.
